Partner Student Story: Meet Alex Cousins, Analyst

Alex Cousins, a senior management analyst for the City of Claremont—one of CLU’s valued Educational Partners—is a proud graduate of CLU’s inaugural MPA Fellowship for Ethics and Equity in Public Administration, a program designed to equip leaders with tools to create innovative solutions for communities.

Alex’s path to public service began with an internship during his undergraduate years, where he discovered his passion for local government and problem-solving. His hands-on experience and dedication to serving others eventually led him to pursue his MPA at CLU, where he gained practical skills that continue to shape his impact in his role today.

Reflecting on his CLU experience, Alex noted, “CLU’s MPA program was the perfect fit – affordable, practical, and led by experts who understand public service. The skills I gained continue to shape the way I lead and serve my community.”

Beyond his work with the City, Alex serves as a board member for Crossroads, Inc., a Los Angeles nonprofit that provides housing, education, counseling, and employment readiness for women transitioning from incarceration. His dedication reflects his role as a community-focused leader committed to driving positive change.
